Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good Plus condition as a refinished antique. The receiver crest is legible but has been damaged by surface erosion. The front of the barrel shows discoloration from oxidation on the unfinished metal. The magazine floorplate shows surface erosion. Surface erosion and scratches show through the new finish on the receiver. This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish as refinished. There is some light fouling in the grooves near the muzzle. The bore is bright semi-bright at the muzzle. The stock rates in about Very Good Plus condition as an antique. The LOP measures 13 Вј inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The blond wood is nice overall but shows some scrapes, scratches and compression marks. The left side of the forearm shows a large scrape that extends to the handguard. The hardwood stock has a straight grip, cutout for the bolt handle, nosecap, hole for the absent cleaning rod, barrel band, two sling loops and a metal buttplate. When flipped up it becomes a sight ladder that uses a sliding вЂњVвЂќ notched blade. The rear sight is a вЂњVвЂќ notched blade assembly. The front of the barrel has been machined to accept a front sight band. There is no front sight and the cleaning rod is absent. Barrel Length: Approximately 17.7 Inches. (The Portuguese spelling of Berlin is used вЂњBerlimвЂќ.) The bottom metal is marked with numbers that do not correlate to the serial number.
